Reverend P. Joanna Rogers

Reverend Rogers came from England to the United States in 1962.  As the wife of a Minister, she was very involved with the Unity Church and Sunday School in England, America, and Australia for about 14 years.   Then, after returning to America, with the United Church of Religious Science she became a Practitioner.

For eighteen years she held the position of Electro-Mechanical Designer for the Kitt Peak National Observatory, in Tucson Arizona.   Working there she developed an interest in space and the universe.  This piqued her curiosity into the origins of Religion and Ancient New Thought.

Now, her interests are in the Dead Sea Scrolls and the effects on the beginning of the Christian Church, with a primary interest in Emma Curtis Hopkins and her teachings.  She was introduced to Emma Curtis Hopkins about eighteen years ago when she was asked to teach a class comparing her with Ernest Holmes (this course was created by Rev. Ruth Wilkerson of Redlands CA.).

Reverend Rogers was ordained by Dr. Lola Mays in Phoenix Arizona in 1986, and soon after founded The Desert Church of The Learning Light in Tucson Arizona.  For several years she was the Southern Arizona's District President for the International New Thought Alliance (INTA).  Since locating to Ohio she has now taken on the position of District President for Kentucky and Southern Ohio. 

In 1998 she presented a program on Hidden Bible Secrets at the INTA Congress in Phoenix Arizona. In 2006 she gave a program on Emma Curtis Hopkins, and n 2008 participated in the SSMR (Society for the Study of Metaphysical Religion) discussion on Emma Curtis Hopkins.

In 2009 Rev. Rogers published her book Emma Curtis Hopkins: An Appreciation For Her Students, available through our Bookshelf.

Rev. Rogers presented at the 2010 Coloquium, "Allegorical and Mystical Interpretation of the Bible" held at the Universal Truth Center in Miami Gardens FL.

These days Reverend Rogers is spreading her time between Arizona, Colorado, and Ohio enjoying time with her children and grand-children. She devotes most of her time to the Bookshelf, research and writing, but still continues to teach.
